Week 8: Community - The Origami Club

Hi there!
 
I am part of origami program in my school.
 
It is a group that meets every Tuesday afternoon after school.
 
In this club, our group of students from different grades learns how to make a variety of origami objects.
 
There are no rules in this club except being focused on task and completing it on time.
 
There are many benefits of learning origami like

• It helps us learn fractions
• It strengthens our understanding of geometric concepts which as a result improves our thinking skills
• It is a fun way to explain physics concepts like folding paper into an accordion to make it strong while a thin sheet of paper can’t be strong.
• It also helps us appreciate the world more when we see folds of leaf buds or beetle wings that unfold in origami patterns.

Being in an origami club is a lot of fun because you create and exhibit many things, get appreciation from your group, and learn to get the solution from various approaches.
